This is a Welsh death metal band that will make every fan of the genre at least tap their foot. Copro Records' deadliest outfit 'Desecration' caused controversy with their debut album 'Gore and Perversion' on Arctic Serenades in 1995. Spewing out tracks that can only disgust, the band were forced to 'tone right down' or get of the business altogether. After a long break they went on to record 'Murder in Mind' without a drummer.
As soon as one was recruited, a full USA tour took place before entering the studio this time being fully manned. 'Inhuman' (which in fact the band regard musically as their first proper release) was a vast improvement on their past works.
2002 saw the band just getting better again, with the release of 'Pathway To Deviance', Desecration mix nasty brutal death metal with some real catchy tunes, earning some excellent reviews along the way.
This year sees Desecration causing controversy again, with their latest release 'Gore and PerVersion 2' (a re-recording of the classic debut) held up at the printers due to its extreme content, but will, fingers crossed be hitting the shops around April.
The current line up (which has changed from album to album) is as follows: Ollie (vocals/rhythm guitar), Mike (drums), and Pete (bass guitar).
Having performed live shows with Deicide, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and Vader to name a few, they have become a well established UK act fighting to put Wales in the death metal circuit with their unique style

Please give us a short introduction of yourselves?
We are an American-style death metal band from Wales in Great Britain. We have been around since the early 90's, at the moment we are a three piece, it fuckin' varies from album to album!
What is the fun to be part of the band?
Performing live is the fun of it totally, but apart from that the real pleasure of course is having your recordings released for the public to buy.
What is all the fuss about the censorship? Your debut album was banned, how did it look and what was the alternative?
It depicted mutilation (and worse) of a mother and child, very graphic (a drawing). The alternative was to completely censor the cover! That sucked, but we got it printed on shirts, ha ha! It eventually got a release by a Norweigan company, and it had full lyrics printed in the booklet, man those lyrics were nasty as fuck, but the recording was only from a rough mix on cassette that we had. It sounded terrible.
How did you use that cover? Good way to get media attention?
It was never intended for publicity, just what we were doing at that time, we were writing sick songs so we had to have a sick picture, but death metal is this kind of thing, we couldn't have bunch of flowers on the cover right?
What is your meaning of censorship, what makes you vomit?
Nothing offends me or makes me gag at all. I think each individual should decide what they want, but I do believe censorship is necessary for kids to be unable to see everything, once adult then you should make your own decision and if you are going to be violent then it has nothing to do with films or pictures. That's what you would do anyway.
How many girls have you desecrated?
What, you mean dead ones? That's personal.
So what is your daily job? Is it for the money or something you learned for?
I am a mortician, and I have trained fully for it, oh and of course I do it for money too!
And what do you do when you come in from work, eat?
Of course I eat ha ha, and drink too, maybe watch some porn or horror movie, surf the internet, listen to bad tunes!
What is your favourite food? Are you a good cook yourself? Do you compare your girls cooking to your mothers?
I like meat, any meat, and I know how to cook it, I hate junk food, too much crap in there, apart from chicken 'cos you can eat it off the bone. I've never been with a girl who can cook!
The most irritating finger to scratch your rectum? Why?
The little finger, I don't know why, it just wasn't made for it. I don't know, the third finger is pretty useless also. Wait there let me see...
What do your parents think of your music? Do they buy CDs to show to their friends?
They hate it, and no they don't buy the cds. Mic our drummer's mom does though.
1Do they ever come to your gigs?
Never.
How tolerant are you towards disabled people who visit the show?
I don't care, I think if I was disabled I'd still wanna go to shows. Once we played with a band whose guitarist had no legs and one arm, but he fuckin' tried, nothing was gonna stop him doing what he wanted so full respect went to him, although it was kinda funny to watch!
How do you wanna reproduce? Cloning or sexual deed?
Where's the thrill in cloning? if you combined it with a sexual deed then that'd be cool, but you'd have multiple arseholes walking round!
What are your fave tv programmes or do you rent videotapes, dvds?
I don't watch tv ever, I just watch movies, videos or dvds, I like the big screen but only go if theirs is a wicked movie to see.
Back to the music, why did you re-record the debut album? Where do you think you differ to the beginning?
We had the opportunity, so we took it, the first time it sounded so bad, I wanted everyone including ourselves to hear how it should have sounded so we did it and it's cool. We are such a much better band now.
What did the girls say when they kneeled before you to shoot the pics that are used in the booklet?
Um...no, no, nooooooo!
Casket is doing promotion for your disc, do they have no problem you're your images? And why don't they use the original cover?
They're scared!
Say something that will help people to start listening to your album, what should they do to get a free copy?
Anyone who likes brutal death metal will like it, well worth checking out our later albums (but not our first ones ha ha!, we've improved a hell of a lot since then!). Anyone who wants a free copy can just...fuck off!
