This year, a cozy Belgian town called As (near Holland and Germany), will be flood again with black shirts, long hair and army boots on a fun, hot festival day in the summer. With a truckload of heavy guitars and thunderous drums, Vlamrock (Very Loud Alternative Music) is guaranteed to close out the season on the 28th August with a bang!!
Just like the previous editions, will Vlamrock combine the most promising local talent with some true headliners from the metal- and hardcore scene. And to beat the rumours, we’ll quickly release our first bands for this year’s edition:
Primordial – First Blood – Confronto – Exit Ten – The Black Tartan Clan
First Blood from San Francisco is a well-known name in the scene for years and there’s no doubt they will bring the crowd of our hardcore-stage to a boiling point. The Brazilian Confronto takes a stop at Vlamrock, especially to celebrate their 10th anniversary with their Belgian fans. Furthermore our bill will include Exit Ten, one of the most promising heavy bands from the UK (if you don’t believe it, just google them for a sec) en the Belgian folkpunk band The Black Tartan Clan, who will catch up their cancelled show of last year.
For our indoor stage (the metal-stage), we can only release one name, but it’s a headliner with capital H: The Irish band PRIMORDIAL will make the trip to Belgium exclusively (!!!) for Vlamrock, to give the festival the headliner it deserves. And that they are very capable of doing so, was proven during their highly anticipated gig on Graspop in 2008, amongst others.
