San Francisco Bay Area Thrashers, Potential Threat SF, has released their debut full length album entitled "A New Threat Level". This trio has put together an album that is pure old-school Bay Area thrash. It has all the typical ingredients for a good thrash album: chunky fast guitar, angry gritty vocals, good solid bass lines, and heavy hitting drums. Throughout the album subtle influences of Metallica, Anthrax, and Testament can be heard. The song "Second To None" has some pretty heavy guitar rhythms and "Day Of Infamy" displays their speed with the guitars and drums, however, "Watch It Fade Away" is the best song on the album. It showcases some nice bass work, catchy guitar riffs, and vocally it's gritty and raw. Overall, the album keeps the listener's attention with it's variety and gets the blood pumping with it's fast rhythms. It is a good solid thrash album that many old school thrash fans will enjoy.
