BRUTALISM

Third album for the Italian killing thrash death Methedras and I can say that it’s something of really surprising: a powerful mixture of thrash metal of the early 80’s and modern death metal. The band is active since 1996 so we are not in front of people without any experience, on the contrary: all the positive reviews for their previous releases, a frequent live activity, highlights like the appearance at the Wacken Open Air and at the Slovenian Metal Camp or a Uk tour with the Swedish gods Dismember are the right marker to guess the future steps of these guys. The technical rate is always high (listen to the drummer to believe) but Methedras don’t loose one gram of their powerful and violence: an exponential growth, a bay area thrash Testament style with a “new Chuck Billy” behind the microphone, death metal digression, energy to the nth degree, wonderful guitar solos, excellent compositions and a fucking killer production… I think it will be hard to find a better killer thrash album this year, with or without bigger names on the table.
