BRUTALISM

This album is a collaboration of 6 tracks combinning 3 tracks from each band -the occult black metal from Dimentianon and the sludge like funeral doom sound of Rigor Sardonicous. Why Largactyl Records did this split album I have not a clue but it seems to work and is a good way of presenting both bands as an introduction to new listeners. I find that this album represents the best of each band and well as a whole creates a nice heavy toned dark enviroment. On the first 3 tracks Dimentianon have a perfect blend of black and death for example this band manges to use heavily the atmosphere of black metal tradition yet still keeps it's vocals strictly death in it's pattern. The last 3 tracks by Rigor Sardonicous stay true to their funeral doom sound and in comparssion to Dimentianon's sound Rigor Sardonicous mange to keep a death metal atmosphere in their track surroundings.
