Postwar Madness is actually just a very brief single released before Chaos Synopsis's 2009 album, Kult Of Dementia. The music is a mix of thrash and death metal: the riffs are catchy and the vocals certainly speak of death metal, adding a new layer of intensity to the music. After a few groove laden seconds though, "Postwar Madness" begins to lose its charm. The vocals have this faded, live quality to them that while it does make them sound more human, it also makes the album sound like it was recorded in poor quality. The same can be said for "LXXXVI." However, the good news about these tracks is that the music doesn't actually sound so bad, as opposed to the vocals. Lots of the riffs are pulverizing due to being thick distortion, but there's also a lot of melody and rhythm included with the music. The cover of the track by Death is the best demonstration of this, and even works well for the vocals due to the raw intensity, along with production.

Fans will probably want to grab the actual full length, Kult Of Dementia, rather than find this 'single.' The quality compared between both is not much different, which is a bit disappointing, but Chaos Synopsis are best at making up their fuzziness with groove mixed with a few hints of melody. For fans of other thrash influenced bands such as Vader, Testament, and even Severe Torture.
