Crawling out of dark vaults of Brasil, Chaos Synopsis offers the first full length album entitled “Kvlt Ov Dementia”. Since the band was formed back in 2005, these dudes launched 2 EP´s and a single so far.

What you get is nothing else but aggressive Thrash / Death Metal with a real good production. Fortunately Chaos Synopsis concentrates on the the things that really matter. You won´t find king-size introductions or unnecessary overlong samples on “Kvlt Ov Dementia”. Quite the contrary: the down-tuned riffs are precise and thought out - just like the whole rest of this album. The band added some catchy tunes to make sure their not too complex compositions grab your attention right from the start. This also underlines the heavy general impression. Even if there are muscial variations in every song, the vocals sometimes sound a bit monotonous. Well, you won´t hear the typical shrieking Thrash Metal voice, but rather aggressive hoarse and darker vocals. Nevertheless some more higher screams would have been even more enjoyable. But that´s open to dispute and depends on your own opinion. The bass lines are pretty cool and thanks to the already mentioned good production, they´re always audible and according to this an equal important part of “Kvlt Ov Dementia”. The drums are also variable and without any doubt the guy behind the kit knows how to handle his instrument, changing pace when it´s needed and building the backbone of the tracks. But there´s one point of criticism concerning the drums: they sometimes sound too clinical and too artificial. Especially when it comes to faster parts, the whole stuff sounds like a computer. Even if Chaos Synopsis uses a human drummer. So, there´s still some room for improvement.

“Kvlt Ov Dementia” clocks in with about 40 minutes of total playing time and surprised me with powerful songs and a remarkable general impression. Even if the genre wasn´t reinvented, fans of straight to your face Thrash / Death Metal shouldn´t hesitate to give Chaos Synopsis a try and judge this band for themselves.
