This is “Thrash ‘n’ Roll” and this is Blood Pollution from Russia. They have numerous releases already under their belt, this EP and ‘Monster Truck Man’ is a brash rock n roll outlaw rush through a collection of 6 tracks. Before you get time to breathe, ‘Ready to Wreck’ is over, it is nothing special, basic rock and roll, and so is the next song ‘Free for Decay’. Bluesy solo’s and slight hillbilly chords continue to tickle you for your sins; it is not until ‘Too Big For You’ that there is a general change in their tempo, approach and song structure. I am sure the chord structure and it’s melody follows a close path to Rainbow’s ‘Man On A Silver Mountain’, but that is about all the similarities I can find. It still has it’s rock n roll groove, I don’t know where the thrash ‘n’ roll figures in this equation, but the balls out bluesy approach fits better than the brash speedier songs as they simply don’t go anywhere apart from the comical ‘Jesus Ate My Neighbours’.

This is an ok release but it is far from challenging musically, it would fit a party atmosphere or mass gathering, but nothing any more sophisticated, Blood Pollution’s music is tight in its execution whilst just about raising itself above near substandard.
