BRUTALISM

For those who don’t already know, Austrian Death Machine is the brainchild of Tim Lambesis, vocalist of As I Lay Dying. Earlier in 2008 Lambesis created this side project and recorded a full length CD entitled Total Brutal that weds old school thrash to a steroid-fueled parody of Arnold Schwarzenegger action hero machismo. The results are pretty funny if you’re a fan of the Conan and Terminator movies; at the very least you’ll get a laugh if you thought the typical clichés written for action movies like Predator and Commando were overdone and laughable to begin with. Stretching the concept is a new “holiday” EP entitled A Very Brutal Christmas which includes a song taken from the full length plus A.D.M.’s reworking of “Jingle Bells” and a Judas Priest cover tailored to fit Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
