If Vital Remains and Darkthrone had a child, Aguynguerran would be it's magnificent unholy abomination. I was blown away by this cd and the sheer chaos and evil of it. I can describe this cd is one word: Extraordinary. But one word doesn't give it justice, there's too much good to be said about it. Perverting the Nazarine Cult starts out with a very intense intro, with a cult-like feel, and gives you a taste of the chaos to come. Aguynguerran would not be out of place among black metal icons Immortal, Darkthrone, and Gorgoroth. This release shows a maturity in the black metal scene not heard since Dissection's untimely demise. Prepare for this album to sweep you up in a maelstrom of darkness. I was very surprised by their inventiveness, it stays within the limits of the black metal sound but they stay completely original. To say that this cd is a breath of fresh air would be a mistake, it's a category 5 barelling straight through all the mediocre black metal bands out there and is destined for the top. Buy this album now, or beg for mercy later.
