This morning Polish death metal juggernaut Vader announced they had completed work on their 11th studio album, "Tibi Et Ingi", and will be releasing it on May 30th through Nuclear Blast Records.
Stay tuned for more on this soon.
Editor's Note: "Tibi Et Igni" translates from Latin as “for you and fire.”
Enslaved has just finished up their tour with Amon Amarth and Skeletonwitch, now they are headed back to reality and star working on a new album to follow up their 2012 release RIITIR. Ivar Bjørnson, the guitarist for the band, has stated this in a recent interview:
This year is going to be my big new project year. We have a new Enslaved album which will be made. We have some side projects that we are working on. Trinacria will be resurrected this year. I am going to try, if there is enough time, to do things on my own. There is just a wide spread of styles, that is why we are coming out with a couple of different projects instead of just one big one.
Arch Enemy, who made our Top 10 Death Metal Bands list has released information about their new album. The new album is entitled 'War Eternal' and will be released in June by Century Media Records. Michael Amott, the guitarist, comments about the new album:
Musically, this album is going a few places we haven't visited before. As our fans have come expect, our albums have all had their own vibe and 'War Eternal' will leave its own mark. Lyrically, it's a much more personal record, and I feel the songs have more dynamics and depth than ever before. The songs are loaded with strong and vicious metal, drenched in tons of melody and emotion. All the trademarks of ARCH ENEMY are present, just more in your face and turned up to 11.

Suicidal Angels formed in early 2001 in Greece and hold true to the thrash sound most metalheads know and love. Their latest album, ‘Divide and Conquer’ is everything a little thrash metal freak loves – or a big thrash metal freak. Whichever.
It is exciting to see that thrash metal is here to stay with the direction heavy metal has gone in the last ten years. Bands like Metallica and Megadeth adopted new age sounds as they strayed from their true metal roots, but I digress.
The gist of ‘Divide and Conquer’ – released January 2014 – the album is misanthropic, which is probably at the heart of every teenager worldwide. Kids always find something to be angry about and this album could very well help them with the disdain of the human race.
My first impression of Exmortus was live last week at the show in SLC. Ever since then I have got their new album 'Slave to the Sword' and have loved it. Dark Angel has reformed and rumor is they will be doing a limited number of shows in the United States in 2013, plus some festivals in Europe. For the mean time you can view a small recording of them rehearsing the song "Dearth Is Certain (Life Is Not)".
The confirmed line up for the select shows will be:
Gene Hoglan had this to say about the new events:
DARK fuckin ANGEL has been working real hard behind the scenes, and I can't tell you enough how happy we are to bring this beast back to the fans.
I'll admit before the rehearsals I really didn't know what to expect, but let me tell you, you to will be as stoked as I am.
We have returned!
Tim Labesis, the lead vocalist for the metalcore band As I Lay Dying, was arrested back on May 7th, 2013 for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife Meggan Lambesis. He has appeared in court again to face those charges and has entered a guilty plea. He is currently facing a maximum sentence of nine years and a $10,000 fine.
NBC San Diego News quoted:
He wanted to know if maybe I could find someone to do it for him.
Lambesis provided the undercover agent with an envelope containing $1,000 cash for expenses, his wife’s address and gate codes, pictures of her and specific dates when he would have the children and thus, an alibi.

Today Katatonia has released that their long time companion and guitar Per "Sodomizer" Eriksson will be parting ways with the band. This official statement was released:
It has been some time coming but guitarist Per 'Sodomizer' Eriksson and KATATONIA have now mutually agreed to part ways.
Per joined the band in 2010 as a live session player, and after some substantial touring, quickly became a steady fixture being heavily involved in the recording of KATATONIA's 2012 critically acclaimed studio album 'Dead End Kings'.
A difference in views on the band's current operative as well as last year's decision from Per to permanently live in Barcelona have made his involvement in the band too problematic, both for him and for the remaining band members.
Turisas and Korpiklaani will be sharing the stage and returning to the North America. They will be co-headlining the Paganfest America Tour Part V. Other bands making the long journing will be Chthonic, Varg and Winterhymn. The tour will kick off in Springfield, VA on April 25th and go across and back again until May 18th.

It's been a long time since Mayhem has released anything to the metal community. Their lastest album 'Ordo Ad Chao' was released was back in 2007. You can pre-order the 7" vinyl edition of the single from Season of Mist official store, set to release on April 29th.
This last weekend, Salt Lake City, Utah had the privilege of hosting Dark Tranquillity, Omnium Gatherum and Exmortus live in concert. I would like to apologize to all the bands for having to play "In The Venue", it not the greatest venue SLC has to show. Never the less all the bands killed it and it was one of the best shows that we have seen in a long time.Exmortus
I had little knowledge of Exmortus and who they were. All I can say is wow. They came out, shredded the shit out of their guitars and the crowd love it. I had no idea how talented these guys were. If any of you haven't checked out Exmortus, please do as soon as you can, you will not be disappointed. You can start with their recent released album called 'Slave to the Sword' via Prosthetic Records.

Amon Amarth, Enslaved and Skeletonwitch came into Metal CallOut's backyard of Salt Lake City, Utah on February 12th at the Murry Theater. We were lucky enough to the catch the show and watch a hell of a performance. The tour was Amon Amarth’s Deceiver of the Gods North American Tour 2014.Skeletonwitch
The supporting act was Skeletonwitch, which I’m not sure why. I believe that Enslaved should have been the supporting act and Skeletonwitch the Special Guest, nether the less that is how the night played out.
What can you say about Amon Amarth shows? They are some of the most epic and entertaining shows from a death metal band that you will see. If you haven’t seen Amon Amarth live, you need to. They always have a great set with a pleasant light show and effects. They get the crowd involved with their songs by chanting and singing. Their playlist have a nice balance of their classic songs plus their new ones.
With a hungry crowd wanting as many songs possible Amon Amarth gave them the following set list.
